About Priory Castor

Priory Castor began manufacturing castors in 1938 and was

founded in Birmingham by William Cooper. 


Historically, about 90% of its business was to manufacture and supply

to the domestic appliances market. This was predominantly for white goods, however as many manufacturing companies moved away from the UK to Asia, it prompted the need to diversify. 


The approach was to work with SME’s and to continue to be attentive to their customers specific requirements, whilst offering their renowned quality and dependability service. Priory Castor are now the only organisation in the UK to manufacture general castors.

The Business Challenges

Due to the challenges in the market and the necessity to remain at the forefront of what they do, communication needs to be seamless, and optimum connectivity is essential. 


The former ISDN line Priory Castor had was inadequate and they sadly could not get a reasonable amount of connectivity, which was causing disruption to the business. Following that, a cable box installation caused connectivity to again fall short of expectation. 


After a recommendation from an industry connection, Priory Castor contacted Aonix Limited, and our relationship began. 

Our Solution

When our technical team provided a personalised consultation, it was evident that the traditional line was compromising service and productivity. As the ISDN switch off commences in 2025 and the existing telephone system was outdated, Aonix Limited suggested our award-winning Smarter Working platform as a perfect solution to meet the needs of the business.  

The entire system can be used anywhere and gives the added benefit of a remote, smarter working solution. There are a whole host of features such as audio, video, conferencing and a live chat functionality. In addition, there are fully integrated shared phonebooks that operate across desktops, mobile devices and DECT handsets. Our solution is also secure by design, so your voice and data are completely protected. A major advantage Priory Castor found with our platform was that it has proven to boost productivity, efficiency and represents a cost saving when compared to their previous legacy telephone system.
